The steady rise in energy prices and growing environmental awareness have lead to increased demands on the economy and efficiency of heating and cooling systems. One fo the most environmentally friendly and economical systems is the utilisation of ground-source energy using heat pumps. With RAUGEO probes, REHAU offers an reliable and efficient method of extracting ground-source energy.
Probes offer the highest performance of all the ground-source heat pump solutions as they are buried at depths typically up to 100m, where the ground is a constant 10C. A typical house would need normally 1-2 probes to acheive the required heating demand. The unique RAUGEO PE-Xa probes are made of cross-linked polyethylene (PE-Xa), which, compared to standard polyethylene (PE 100), offers better thermal, chemical and physical properties. REHAU's PE-Xa probes have no joint at the probe tip, eliminating any potential for leakages, thereby ensuring the highest possible reliability. PE-Xa probes are also resistant to puncture loads which occur when the probe pushing against the borehole wall.
PE-Xa pipe can be connected with the Everloc compression sleeve, the highly reliable connection system used on all REHAU PE-Xa pipes. The RAUGEO range covers all the probe accessories required for a borehole installation (probe weights, spacers, antifreeze, backfilling pipe). PE 100 probes are also available.
