The steady rise in energy prices and growing environmental awareness have lead to increased demands on the economy and efficiency of heating and cooling systems. One of the most environmentally friendly and economical systems is the utilisation of ground-source energy using heat pumps. With the RAUGEO Helix probe PE-Xa, REHAU offers an innovative solution for durable, safe extraction of ground-source energy.
The new REHAU Helix ground-source probe is an innovative, new product which allows ground source energy systems to be incorporated into new build and even refurbishment projects where space is restricted or where installation costs might previously have made it unviable. A ground-source heat pump (GSHP) extracts energy from the ground and converts it to a higher grade heat to be used for heating the property (ideally used with an underfloor heating system). As a Helix probe is installed in only a 5m deep hole, the installation can be carried out by a civil contractor, rather than a specialist borehole drilling company which allows for significant cost savings on the total GSHP installation.
