Our AWADUKT Thermo ground – air heat exchanger is a unique product which uses the natural temperature of the earth at 1.5m below ground to pre-cool or pre-warm fresh air as it is drawn into a building through a network of underground polymer pipes.Fast and easy to install, AWADUKT Thermo offers a class leading Coefficient of Performance (COP) of up to 100 which means that for every 1KW of energy consumed, up to 100KW is generated.
Ground- Air Heat Exchanger 
REHAU’s AWADUKT Thermo ground-air heat exchanger exploits ground-source energy via controlled ventilation. The basic concept relies on the fact that at depths of 1.5 to 2m below the surface the earth’s temperature is a constant 8-12ºC throughout the year. By drawing ventilation air through an underground network of pipes, this air is either pre-heated by the ground in the winter or pre-cooled in the summer. For a domestic application, around only 40m of 200mm diameter pipe is needed which can be laid in a loop or a meander pattern. For optimum energy efficiency, the system is ideally combined with a mechanical ventilation heat recovery unit.
